What is FedFleet 2005?

The Federal Fleet Policy Council, GSA’s Office of Governmentwide Policy and GSA Fleet are proud to sponsor FedFleet 2005.

FedFleet 2005 will be held June 7-9, 2005 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center in Nashville, TN.  The Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center will be the headquarter hotel and the event venue for the FedFleet 2005 exhibit hall, workshop sessions, and meals/breaks.  But keep your walking shoes handy!

For those who attended FedFleet in the past you already know what the FedFleet Workshops are all about and what they offer.  For those of you planning on attending a FedFleet Workshop for the first time in 2005, have we got an event for you!  This is a massive annual training opportunity centered on the essential topics related to the management and operation of the entire federal motor vehicle fleet of almost 580,000 vehicles.

This year, GSA will migrate the previous Federal Vehicle Standards Conferences workshop sessions and vendor presentations into the FedFleet Conference making FedFleet a one-stop-shop for Fleet management professionals.

We are confident that you’ll find the 2005 Workshop a quality event and well worth the nominal training and travel dollars involved.

Please mark your calendars and add this event to your budget now so you will not miss out!

Why should I attend FedFleet 2005?

The benefits of attending FedFleet 2005 are numerous and will greatly impact your performance on the job.  Here are just a few reasons you’ll want to attend:

  • It is the premier event in 2005 for all entities concerned with federal motor vehicle fleet matters.

  • The sponsors of FedFleet 2005, the GSA Office of Governmentwide Policy, GSA Fleet, and the Federal Fleet Policy Council (FedFleet), represent the federal agencies that coordinate policy efforts to improve the management of and enhance the performance of the motor vehicle fleets operated by the federal government.

  • Representatives from all levels of federal, state and local governments from across the country, international representatives, and the private sector will be in attendance.

  • In the past FedFleet Workshops, we have always sold out of exhibit space.  This year we are planning to have an exhibit hall full of vendors for virtually every commodity or service you might need to do your job in the best way possible.

  • Your fleet is impacted by the economy.  You’re challenged to accomplish your mission, and even do more, with less resources.  Learn creative ways to save money and manage your fleet in tough economic times.

  • The executive planning committee is developing the whole event to meet the needs of all attendees at all levels.

  • The executive planning committee is offering free meeting space before and after the Workshop to agencies that want to hold an agency-specific meeting to capitalize on travel and training dollars.

  • You’ll return to work with a fresh perspective and be ready to implement improvements based on the useful information you’ve learned.

  • You’ll walk away knowing you attended a worthwhile and beneficial training opportunity!

What does FedFleet 2005 have to offer?

  • Informative and interesting plenary sessions.

  • 40 Workshop training  sessions covering a wide range of significant fleet management issues.  These sessions were requested by past FedFleet attendees and by national agency fleet managers as key topics you need to know about.

  • Large exhibit hall featuring a wide array of products, vehicles, and services available to help you do your job more efficiently and effectively.  Exhibitors will be on hand to answer your questions and show you the “latest and greatest” in the world of fleet management that will fulfill your needs.

  • Ample time and places to network with other participants, share best practices, and discuss important topics that affect your job day in and day out.

  • An all new Ride and Drive

How could I justify my attendance at FedFleet 2005?

  • List your professional goals.  Highlight the many workshop sessions that will help you achieve these objectives, improve your job performance, and benefit your entire organization.

  • Discuss with your supervisor how you will apply what you learn to your specific job and to your organization’s overall mission.  Also discuss how you will share the valuable information you learn and new contacts you make with your co-workers, supervisor, and customers.

  • Emphasize the low registration fee as compared to similar industry events.  Be sure to point out the registration fee includes breakfast, lunch, and two breaks each day as well as two evening receptions.

  • Discuss your need to stay abreast of technology, industry trends, and critical issues facing the world of fleet management.

  • Highlight the advantages of face-to-face networking with government wide and private sector fleet professionals and exhibitors – all in one place for all three days.

What is the government gift acceptance policy?

Associates of the Executive Branch of the Federal Government are subject to the Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Standards of Ethical Conduct. Therefore, GSA wants to ensure that any gifts offered do not result in violations of the OGE regulations.

Federal Government associates subject to the OGE regulations may not accept a gift(s) with a market value of more than $20.00 from any single exhibitor during the span of the FedFleet 2005 event (not to exceed $50.00 from the same source in a calendar year).

Promotional items, gifts, and exhibitor-sponsored events are considered gifts under the OGE regulations, as are food and drink (with the exception of modest items of food or refreshment such as soft drinks, coffee and donuts, offered other than as part of a meal).
